History & Experience


Safe-T Hydro was formed in 1993 and is a subsidiary of Hydro, Inc., the largest independent pump rebuilder in North America. Located near Vancouver, B. C., Canada, Safe-T Hydro is capable of providing rapid response services for mechanical seals to most locations throughout North America.

Safematic is founded and mainly produces lubrication systems and mechanical seals. Western Equipment LTD is awarded the first Ahlstrom parts distribution in North America, in which Safematic seals are included. Larry Wales heads up the Fluid Sealing Division that includes Safematic Seals. Safematic buys Tyton Seal (Montreal), A.N.S.I. Seals, and Turbine Seals, establishing Safematic Canada Inc. Larry Wales joins Safematic Canada Inc. to represent Western Canada. To improve service, inventory is added locally as well as a seal repair exchange program. A Partnership with a local machine shop establishes seal repair services. Safematic is sold to Alpo Ikonen and Safematic Sealing Inc. is established in Atlanta under The Hydro Group and appointed master distributor for Safematic Seals, SafeUnits and Lubrication. Safematic Sealing Canada Inc. is also established in Port Coquitlam and made a subsidiary of Safematic Sealing Inc. Distributors are established across Canada, including Safe-T Machinery Inc. in Alberta. Safe-T Machinery Inc. is purchased and Safe-T Hydro Inc. is established by The Hydro Group to serve Western Canada. Safe-T Hydro Inc. opens a new seal repair facility. Safe-T Hydro continues to sell and service Safematic Seals and has the capacity to provide a wide variety of services to Western Canada.
